Where to find wine bottles
If you don’t have bottles at home, perhaps you have a recycling or glass recycling center in your community. Sometimes you can find bottles on Facebook Market Place or possibly at your local thrift store.
TIP: SAVE $$$ For the bottles shown in this article, I found beautiful fabric, buttons, ribbon, ornaments etc. for pennies at my local thrift store.

Many different looks are possible to match your Holiday theme. Here are some more ideas:
1. SPARKLING LIGHTED WINE BOTTLES
Fortunately, most bottles are made of green glass which is perfect for the holidays!
To decorate lighted bottles, a simple accent such as ribbon, bow, small ornament, sticker or a touch of that spray-on snow along the bottom is enough to make a plain bottle elegant. Don’t over-do it. The shimmery glow of mini lights through the glass is the captivating element here!
Clear bottles such a the one in the photo below, will look more Christmassy wrapped loosely in a sheer fabric and tied with a cord.
LIGHT COLOR:
Note that some battery mini lights will emit a warm, golden glow, where LEDS give off a brighter, blue-ish tone that looks great paired with silver or white.
How to drill a hole in a wine bottle
If you’ve never drilled glass before, relax! Wine bottle glass is thick and you absolutely can have confidence that it will not break if you use the right tools and procedures. I have personally done this myself.
You’ll need a 1/2″ diamond-tip hole-saw, which is a circular cutting tool that attaches into your cordless drill. (At the time of this writing, about $25-$30 bucks at your local hardware store.) 1/2″ diameter is large enough for most styles of mini lights.

2. COZY YARN WRAPPED BOTTLES
Frosty Snowman:
I found brand new glittery yarn at my local thrift store to give my wine bottle snowmen a bit more pizzazz. Like the way the snow crystals sparkle in the sunlight when it’s super cold out.
Just glue the first couple rows of yarn at the bottom. Then, wind the yarn around the bottle like you wind kite string around a stick…it actually goes pretty fast.

Holiday Hygge
Scandinavian influences are very trendy as Christmas decor.
The Danish word “hygge” (pronounced Hyoo-guh) loosely translates to “coziness” or “comfort,” and it’s often used to describe a vibe or feeling that you’d get from snuggling indoors on a cold day. Exactly what you want your Christmas guests to experience in your home.
