About Make it a Garden Magazine

The purpose of Makeitagarden.com (a site owned by Kristen Spencer) is to present ideas and helpful information to inspire and encourage readers to create backyard or garden spaces that are interesting and inviting places to spend time.

This is done through written content, photos and DIY craft projects. This website is intended for personal enjoyment and informational purposes only. Using any of the ideas or engaging in any of the projects presented is entirely at your own risk.

Opinions and views expressed on this blog are purely the author’s own. I love and appreciate my readers. Therefore, it’s my goal to operate this site ethically and conscientiously. That my passion for art and garden shines through with every post I write. However, any product claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer or provider of a service.

How I earn my living

I earn my living as a blogger. Understandably, there are a number of costs associated with running a blog like this— server space, technical tools (that allow my web site to operate smoothly or have certain functions), security and more. To offset these costs, I may host advertisements, use affiliate links to products or create sponsored content. SEE Section on Advertising.

I may also author an e-book or sell my own products.

DISCLOSURE POLICY

The Federal Trade Commission {FTC} revised their guidelines regarding endorsements and testimonials in order to protect the public from any intentionally errant or misleading advertising that has been paid for by a group or company. Since the Make it a garden Blog is a source of income and may occasionally incorporate endorsements or testimonials, I felt it was important to disclose the following to you, my readers:

  • The content of the Makeitagarden blog is a source of income for me and therefore may be used to promote products, services, or other businesses at my sole discretion.
  • I will attempt to the degree I am able, to choose to promote products/services/businesses that I have, in fact, used and that I feel will be beneficial to you the reader. I feel very strongly about this. I prefer to have experience with a product/service/business before I personally recommend it.
  • Should there be opportunity in the future (as the blog grows) to receive products provided by my advertising partners for my review, know that this will not automatically ensure a positive review of such product.
  • You can trust me. I will always give my genuine opinion about a product or service whether or not I am partnering with the service provider and/or receiving payment to do so.
  • Honesty is my number one priority for accuracy and fairness to my readers. I would never compromise the truth just to make a buck. Ever. It’s just not right. It’s not worth it to me and it’s not fair to you.
  • Mentions of associated products/services/businesses within the content of my blog may or may not be noted as an affiliate in every reference.
